Bromley has always been associated with the blues. In the 1960s, the Bromel Club at the Bromley Court Hotel hosted many American bluesmen, including Sonny Boy Williamson, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Champion Jack Dupree, John Lee Hooker and Bo Diddley, as well as stars such as Jimi Hendrix and Wilson Pickett. Sonny Boy also appeared in early 1964 at the now demolished White Hart Inn in the town centre. British disciples of these legends also featured – John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, Zoot Money, Long John Baldry and the Animals also appeared on multiple occasions. Now, the blues is back for 2024. Mississippi MacDonald and The Bourne Music Club are proud to present a new series of blues shows featuring the cream of British and American musicians – the Bromley Blues Club at Bromley Little Theatre.
