Lloyd & Platt
Lloyd and Platt has been a Chorlton institution since its inception in 1870. Once known as The Lloyds, the place was an early example of a pub built for more than just pints. With tennis courts and a crown bowling green (still going strong today), it was one of the first pubs to offer proper purpose-built spectator sport facilities. Fast forward to 2024, owners Jonny Booth and Rupert Hill joined forces with JW Lees to bring the pub back to life – and part of the community once more. It now sits proudly alongside sister venues The Castle Hotel and Gullivers – continuing a tradition of great pubs with deep roots in Manchester’s history.
