About this event
An inspirational jazz/blues combo, featuring the precociously talented Harry Greene, Blues & Greene explores the mystical territory where the blues meets jazz meets the blues again.
The band's groovesome and righteous set list includes compositions by Duke Ellington; the more contemporary, blues-tinged, funky, jazz fusion of Steely Dan; the unique and influential songs of Mose Allison, plus material by artists such as Willie Dixon, J. J. Cale, Robben Ford, B. B. King, Brother Jack McDuff, Jeff Lorber, and John Scofield.
HARRY GREENE: Previously here with Steely Jazz, multi-instrumentalist Harry has firmly cemented himself as a masterful Musical Director, performer, arranger, composer and bandleader. An in-demand guitarist and saxophonist, he has performed with artists such as Incognito, Mica Paris, Citrus Sun, KT Tunstall, Hamish Stuart, Mo Pleasure, Bernard Purdie, and The Ronnie Scott’s All Stars.
Apart from his collaborations with Chris Ingham for Blues & Greene, and Steely Jazz, Harry's band project with singer Ashton Jones - Funk Soul Orchestral: James Brown vs Prince - wowed packed houses at Ronnie Scott’s, and toured the UK. Aside from his performing and touring career, he's also a highly regarded writer and arranger. His music catalogue encompasses big band, Afrobeat and Cuban music, and as well as composing for television and digital media, he also regularly contributes arrangements and track production to television's The Voice.
Harry writes and produces for the Brooklyn-based label Calm and Collected, with compositions gaining millions of monthly streams, while in the studio, he has recorded sessions for top brands such as Stella Artois, Audio Network, and Disney.
Harry Greene (Guitar/Saxophone), Chris Ingham (Keyboard/Guitar/Vocals), Owen Morgan (Acoustic/Electric Bass), George Double (Drums/Percussion).
